The #1 Basware alternative
An AI agent that matches each supplier invoice in the ERP you run, books what agrees and chases what is owed to you.

Why companies look for a Basware alternative
Basware is built for large finance organisations, from 50,000 invoices a year. These are the reasons a manufacturer or wholesaler with one finance desk looks elsewhere.
Built for a shared service centre
Basware's AP page names globally operating organisations, finance shared service centres and companies with more than 50,000 invoices a year. A finance team of a few people on one ERP wants this week's invoices booked.
Payables is only half of the finance desk
Basware covers the supplier invoice end to end: capture, matching, e-invoicing and payment. On a smaller finance desk, the same people also apply incoming payments and remind customers who are late.
An older ERP with no API
Basware integrates through open APIs, pre-built integrations and partners, and names SAP ECC next to S/4HANA and non-SAP ERPs. It does not describe systems with no API. Our engineers connect those during delivery, including the AS/400 and the portal with only a login.
Governance & security, built in.
AI that acts in your operations has to be accountable. Approvals, permissions and a full audit trail are part of the platform: hosted in Europe, compliant by design, and your data always yours.
Book a demoAgents ask before they act. You approve what matters.
Every step logged end to end. Trace any decision back to its source.
Your data stays in Europe. And stays yours.
Role-based access for people and agents, down to a single action.
Audited controls, EU data protection, zero retention.
Basware alternatives compared, capability by capability
We read Basware's own pages on 20 October 2026: its homepage, AP Automation, InvoiceAI, the e-Invoicing Network, ERP Integrations and its SAP page. Where Basware does not describe something, the table says so. The Lleverage column describes our AP automation agent and our integrations.

What a Basware alternative has to cover
The supplier invoice first, then the receivables work that sits on the same desk. For the longer story, read our Basware vs Lleverage comparison.

- 01
Supplier invoices matched three ways
Each line held against the order you raised and the goods you received: agreed price, delivered quantity and the right cost centre. What agrees is booked in your ERP.
- 02
Payments matched to what they settle
A customer pays several invoices in one transfer and leaves out a credit note. The agent matches the payment to the invoices it clears and names what is still open.
- 03
Debtors chased on the due date
Every overdue invoice reminded in your tone, with the invoice attached. The customers worth a phone call go to a person in credit control instead.
- 04
Tolerances you set per supplier
Order, receipt, cost centre and bank details each get their own tolerance. Inside the tolerance the agent books, outside it the invoice waits in finance with all three documents open.
- 05
The ERP you already run
SAP S/4HANA and ECC, Business Central, Dynamics 365 F&O, Exact, AFAS and Infor, on-prem systems included. Nothing is migrated into a second database.
- 06
Every correction kept as knowledge
What your controller fixes once is remembered for that supplier, held on your side and exportable, so fewer invoices need a person as the months go by.
Why choose Lleverage as a Basware alternative
The ledger stays in your ERP
The agent books the supplier invoice in the same fields your finance team fills, so your ERP checks it the same way and stays the system of record.
Both sides of the ledger
Payables and receivables on one platform: invoices booked, payments applied and debtors reminded, with one set of rules and one log.
Engineers beside your controller
Before the first invoice is booked, they agree tolerances and cost centres with your controller. They stay on after go-live, through audits and changes to the ERP.
Money always waits for a person
The agent books and chases. Bank details, credit limits and the release of every payment stay with someone in finance.
Older systems connected during delivery
The on-prem ERP, the AS/400 and the supplier portal with only a login. None of them has to be replaced before the first invoice is matched.
EU hosted, on-prem where needed
GDPR compliant, with the data residency you choose, and every action written to an audit trail your controller can read.

Questions about Basware alternatives
What is the best alternative to Basware?
It depends on the size of the operation. For a shared service centre handling invoices across many countries and ERPs, with e-invoicing compliance as a must, Basware covers that. For a manufacturer or wholesaler on one ERP that wants invoices matched and booked there, we think Lleverage fits better.
Is Basware a good fit for a mid-sized company?
Basware's own AP page points to global organisations, shared service centres and companies with more than 50,000 invoices a year. A mid-sized company can use it, but it may carry scope it never needs. One ERP and a small finance team usually want the invoice run off the desk first.
Can Lleverage replace Basware for invoice processing?
For most finance desks that receive supplier invoices by email and PDF, yes. The agent matches each line against the purchase order and goods receipt and books what agrees. If you rely on an e-invoicing network for Peppol and VAT compliance across many countries, Basware covers that and Lleverage does not.
Which ERPs does Lleverage book invoices into?
SAP S/4HANA and ECC, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Finance and Operations, Exact, AFAS and Infor, among others. Lleverage is an SAP partner. On-prem systems are included: our engineers connect the ones with no API during delivery, and your ERP stays the system of record throughout.
How long does a switch from Basware take?
Our engineers start on your real supplier invoices in the first weeks, next to your finance team, while Basware keeps running. Every process starts supervised: a person checks each booking until you decide to move the confidence line, and Basware can be switched off once the agent's numbers hold.
Can the agent release supplier payments?
No. Booking an invoice, applying a payment and sending a reminder are the agent's work. The payment run itself is signed off in finance. Bank details, credit limits and anything outside your tolerances go to a person, and every action is logged with what the agent read, what it decided and why.
